The Toronto Maple Leafs took down the Florida Panthers in Game 6 of their second-round playoff series, extending the matchup. The two teams will now be playing a Game 7 back in Toronto, with the winner advancing to the Eastern Conference Final.
Toronto has battled back from multiple injuries in this series, and they potentially suffered another in Game 6. Forward Matthew Knies missed different parts of Game 6 due to an injury, and his status for Game 7 remains up in the air.

Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube provided a big update on him following Game 6.
“He is dealing with something that happened here,” Berube said. “We have to look at him, see how he’s feeling [Saturday], see how he is.”

Toronto is already playing this series without starting goalie Anthony Stolarz, so losing another player could be tough. Knies has been solid for the Maple Leafs during the playoffs, putting up five goals and two assists over 12 games.
The Maple Leafs rely on their strong depth to help win games, so if Knies has to miss time, it could be tough. During the regular season, Knies recorded 29 goals and 29 assists, showing his production for this team.

It remains to be seen if he will be able to take the ice for Game 7, but if he can’t, others will then need to heavily step up. Toronto will be looking to reach the Eastern Conference Final for the first time since the 2001-02 season.
Game 7 is scheduled for Sunday, May 18, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
