CHN Staff Report

Colorado College is finalizing the addition of 21-year old Mats Lindgren to its roster for the second semester, it has been confirmed to CHN, though the addition is not yet fully complete.

Lindgren was a fourth-round NHL Draft pick of Buffalo in 2022, and played five seasons in the Major Junior WHL. After he aged out of juniors, he played 56 games last season for Wheeling in the ECHL, where the defenseman scored 7 goals and 21 points. He also went pointless in seven games in the AHL playing for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

This season, Lindgren has not been playing while trying to get a waiver from the NCAA to regain eligibility.

Colorado College recently lost junior defenseman, and captain, Max Burklholder for the season due to injury.

Lindgren’s father, also Mats Lindgren, played 387 NHL games from 1996-2003. He finished in Vancouver, which is where the younger Lindgren was born the following year.
