The Philadelphia Flyers (17-10-7) are back at home for one last time before the Holiday break when they host the Vancouver Canucks (15-17-3) at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. EST.

Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet will face the Canucks, his former team, for the first time since taking the job in Philadelphia this past summer.

Philadelphia is fresh off a shootout loss vs. the New York Rangers at MSG on Saturday, falling 5-4. The Flyers have lost three out of their last five games in the shootout, with a regulation loss vs. Buffalo as the other loss, and a win in Montreal following that.

The Canucks enter Philadelphia on a four-game winning streak, including their shootout win vs. the Boston Bruins. Vancouver has not lost a game since trading Quinn Hughes to the Minnesota Wild. Will that change on Monday?

Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. EST at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Here is how the Flyers are expected to line up on Monday.

Things to watch

Assuming all goes well pregame, Christian Dvorak (lower body) and Dan Vladar (upper body) will return to the lineup after missing Saturday’s contest in New York. Dvorak took his normal place in the lineup. As mentioned earlier, Tocchet is calling it a game-time decision, but based on when he left the ice and the fact that he was in the starter’s net, Vladar will be back in goal.

Denver Barkey will be playing his first game at Xfinity Mobile Arena, including the preseason. The Flyers’ rookie mentioned he never played during a home preseason game, so he is excited to play in front of the home crowd for the first time. Barkey played excellent in his NHL debut, let’s see if he can keep it up!

Matvei Michkov has been slumping in December. The Flyers’ star has not scored a goal since November 29th vs. the Devils, and has just 5 points in his last 10 games. Can the prized young talent get the holiday break on a high note?

On the opposing side, the Quinn Hughes trade has, so far, worked out for the Vancouver Canucks. Vancouver acquired Zeev Buium, Marco Rossi, and Liam Ohgren, as well as a first-round pick, in exchange for Hughes. Since the blockbuster deal, the Canucks have not yet lost, with their new acquisitions contributing. Can they stay hot vs. the Flyers?
