NHL leaders, the Colorado Avalanche, face the Utah Mammoth in a Central Division tilt on Tuesday at Ball Arena.

The Avalanche are hoping to secure a sixth consecutive victory on Tuesday night. The team has been dominant throughout the season, failing to win only nine games. Just one of their defeats has come by more than one goal.

On home ice, Colorado has yet to lose in regulation this season. In October, the Dallas Stars and Carolina Hurricanes skated away with shootout victories from Ball Arena. The Avalanche lead the league with 4.03 goals per game and allow a league-low 2.17 goals, meaning you have to play a perfect game to have a chance of beating them.

Utah has been far from perfect in the last couple of months. After starting the season with an 8-2-0 run, Andre Tourigny’s side has picked up only 10 more victories. However, the team will carry some positive momentum into Tuesday’s contest, having lost only two of the last six games.

The Mammoth rely heavily on their top line. The trio of Nick Schmaltz, Clayton Keller, and JJ Peterka has combined for 91 points this season. Things could get interesting in Denver on Tuesday if the visitors bring their A-game offensively.
