Tim Stutzle has become more of a shooting threat, generating shots and goals at much higher rates this season.
My Sabres vs. Senators predictions expect Stutzle’s shooting prowess to be on full display in the last game before the holiday break.
Let’s dig deeper into my NHL picks for Tuesday, December 23.

Sabres vs Senators best bet: Tim Stutzle Over 2.5 shots on goal (+130)
Tim Stutzle is thought of more as a playmaker, but he’s taken on a much larger role as a shooter this season.
He is currently leading the Ottawa Senators in goals with 17 through 35 games. It’s not just a byproduct of being forced to play without Brady Tkachuk for an extended period of time, either.
Stutzle has generated more shots with Tkachuk healthy, even more so when on the same line. He has averaged 2.2 shots on 4.3 attempts in games Tkachuk either missed or skated on a different unit.
Those are noticeably worse than his outputs with Tkachuk by his side. Stutzle has generated 3.3 shots and 5.8 attempts per game through 12 contests skating on the same unit as Tkachuk.
His volume has been especially good of late. Stutzle has cleared this line in five of the past seven and piled up at least four shots on target in four of them.
Considering Stutzle has also seen spikes in production at home, and following a day off, there’s a lot of reasons to get behind him at a generous plus money price.

Sabres vs Senators same-game parlay
Tkachuk has played great since returning from injury. He has 13 points through 12 games and is currently riding a five-game point streak. Favored at home in a game with a 6.5 total, this is a great spot for Tkachuk to build on his strong production.
Jake Sanderson is one of the most productive defensemen in the sport and found the scoresheet twice when he last faced the Buffalo Sabres in October.
