Ottawa Senators centre Shane Pinto and defenceman Tyler Kleven have both returned to skating, but head coach Travis Green doesn’t know when they’ll be ready for game action.

The 25-year-old Pinto is on the injured reserve with a lower-body injury suffered on Dec. 4 while Kleven, 23, missed Sunday’s blowout win over the Boston Bruins with a lower-body injury suffered Friday in win against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Pinto has 12 goals and six assists over 27 games in 2025-26, his sixth season with the Sens.

Kleven has five assists in 32 games in his fourth season with the organization.

Ottawa is currently on a four-game win streak, scoring 19 goals over that span, and sit sixth in the Atlantic Division with a 18-13-4 record.

The Sens host the red-hot Buffalo Sabres, winners of six straight games, on Tuesday in their last game before the Christmas break.

It marks the first game for former Senators forward Josh Norris at the the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa after he was dealt to the Sabres at the trade deadline season.
