The Princeton Posse brought strong hockey action to the community over the past year.
In the spring, the team finished in top spot in the Bill Ohlhausen Division in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.
The Posse had 33 wins, seven losses, three ties and one overtime loss in regular-season hockey action.
On home ice, the team had 20 wins and two losses.
The team had 192 goals during the season, which was second overall in the hockey league.
“If you talk to anyone around the Posse organization, they’ll tell you that this season was one to remember,” said Mark McNaughton, head of operations for the Posse. “We knew heading in that there would be challenges, but instead of backing down, our group took it as an opportunity to prove we could compete with the best in the league.”
The Posse then advanced to the division semifinals, defeating the Sicamous Eagles in five games in the best-of-seven series.
In the division finals, the Posse faced the Revelstoke Grizzlies, playing a total of six games in this best-of-seven series.
In July, head coach and general manager Torrin White announced he would be leaving the team after one season.
White moved to the Western Hockey League’s Lethbridge Hurricanes, taking an assistant coaching position.
“Torrin brought professionalism, leadership and a sharp hockey mind to the Princeton Posse,” the organization stated. “We’re proud to have been part of his coaching journey and wish him continued success at the next level.
Posse players also advanced in their careers.
Team captain Tyson Horiachka and Grady Sterling-Ponech both committed to play for the Drury University Panthers in the American Collegiate Hockey Association in fall 2025. The team is based in Springfield, Mo.
Blake Sittler, goalie for the team, joined the Minot State Beavers in North Dakota, also in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
The 2025-26 hockey season has also been strong for the Posse.
As of Dec. 20, the team had 19 wins, six losses and two shootout losses, putting the Posse in second place in the Bill Ohlhausen Division, close behind the Kelowna Chiefs and just ahead of the Revelstoke Grizzlies.
