BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Buffalo Sabres are back on the ice following the NHL’s Christmas break, in search of their eighth straight victory. Buffalo is hosting the Boston Bruins for the third meeting between the teams this season already.

The Bruins were able to score first, despite Buffalo outshooting their opponent early in the game. David Pastrnak scored his 15th goal of the season just past the midway point of the opening period. Elias Lindholm helped set a screen in front of the net to help Boston open up a 1-0 lead in the first.
