Los Angeles’ comeback bid fell short on Tuesday night in a 3-2 loss to the visiting Seattle Kraken. The Kings trailed 3-0 with 3:58 remaining in the second period before closing the gap, but were unable to get the equalizer. Kevin Fiala got Los Angeles on the board with an unassisted goal at 16:13 of the second before Andrei Kuzmenko cut the gap to a single goal with a tally at 8:45 of the third. The Kings have lost two straight and are just 1-4-2 in their last seven games.

The Ducks tied the game late in the second period before the visiting Kraken got two goals in the third to take a 3-1 win on Monday night. Mikael Granlund tied the game for Anaheim with a goal at 15:40 of the second while defenseman Radko Gudas had a busy night with four hits in 18:59 on the ice. The Ducks outshot Seattle 41-21 in the loss.

Fiala and Adrian Kempe share the team lead for the Kings with 13 goals each, with Kempe topping the club with 30 points. With Darcy Kuemper on injured reserve, Anton Forsberg is the temporary No. 1 goalie, with a 5-5-3 mark and a shutout in 13 games and 12 starts to go with a .901 save percentage and 2.73 goals against average. Cutter Gauthier has 18 goals for Anaheim, while Leo Carlsson, who didn’t play Monday with a lower-body injury, checks in with 17 goals and a team-high 41 points. Lukáš Dostál is 13-8-1 in 22 starts with an .899 save percentage and 2.87 GAA. 

Anaheim took the first meeting between the teams, claiming a 5-4 shootout victory at home on Nov. 28.
