Moser’s career started with the Arizona Coyotes where he spent three seasons after beign drafted in the second round (pick No. 60 overall) in the 2021 NHL draft.
The 2024-25 season was Moser’s first with the Lightning after being traded to Tampa Bay with Conor Geekie by the Utah Hockey Club in June 2024. At that time he signed a two-year, $6.75 million contract that would take him through the end of this season. But as of Saturday, the lefty from Biel, SUI is staying in Tampa for at least another eight years.
Last season Moser skated in 54 games. He accrued two goals, had 12 assists, 14 points, and ended the season with a +20 rating. He had one short-handed goal. Moser averaged 18:51 on ice in 2024-25.
So far this season he has skated in 34 games, has three goals, nine assists, 12 points, and is +24. He has one short-handed goal this season as well and has averaged 21:43 on ice.
Over the course of the last season and a half he has 37 takeaways (14 this season), 113 blocked shots (43 this year).
He ranked as the third-highest rated among NHL defensemen and sixth-highest among all skaters overall.
His total plus-44 rating combined between 2024-2025 and this season is the fourth-highest rating among all NHL defensemen in that time gap.
Outside of playing for the Lightning, Moser has represented his home country of Switzerland twice in the IIHF World Junior Championships (2019, 2020), and the IIHF World Championships three times (2019, 2021, 2022).
Moser’s new eight-year contract is worth an AAV of $6.75 million beginning with the 2026-27 season.
