Trevor Zegras is one of the more creative and dynamic offensive players in the NHL.
He has had a fantastic first half of the season, and my Flyers vs. Kraken predictions expect him to pick up where he left off coming out of the holiday break.
Let’s dive into my NHL picks for Sunday, December 28.

Flyers vs Kraken best bet: Trevor Zegras Over 0.5 assists (+130)
Trevor Zegras is enjoying a nice bounce-back season in his first year with the Philadelphia Flyers, leading the team in goals, assists, and points.
The bulk of his production has come by way of assist, which has always been the case with Zegras.
He should be able to distribute the puck effectively and create a bevy of chances for his linemates in Seattle.
The Seattle Kraken have really loosened defensively of late. They rank 2nd in pace, dead last in shot suppression, and dead last in expected goals allowed at 5-on-5 over the past 10 games.
Seattle sits Bottom-2 in both shots and expected goals conceded on the penalty kill during that span. The power play matchup looks great for Zegras and the Flyers as well.
Zegras has played nine games against teams that rank Bottom-10 in limiting shots this season. He’s picked up at least one apple in seven of them.
Not to mention, he’s played exceptional hockey on a line with Christian Dvorak and Travis Konecny. Zegras has points in nine of 10 games with that duo by his side.

Konecny has also feasted since being placed on a line with Zegras and Dvorak, identically hitting the scoresheet in nine of 10. Given the strong chemistry and correlation between Konecny and Zegras, it makes sense to back one with the other.
The Flyers have consistently found a way to gain real separation in victories. Eight of their last nine wins have come by multiple goals, and they are understandably favored to get a win in Seattle.
