Columbus Blue Jackets

The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated star defenceman Zach Werenski off injured reserve.

Additionally, defenceman Dysin Mayo’s emergency recall has been converted to a regular recall.

Werenski has missed the last four games due to a lower-body injury suffered on Dec. 20 against the Anaheim Ducks.

The 28-year-old ranks second among NHL defencemen in goals (14) and points (40) in 35 games this season. The 6-foot-2, 214-pound Grosse Pointe, Mich. native also ranks second among all NHL players in time on ice, averaging 26:48 per game.

Werenski was among the players selected to represent Team USA on the men’s ice hockey roster for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
