2026 started with more of a whimper than a bang for the Capitals, as they let another lead slip away – and blew a tie in the final minutes of regulation – before falling to the Senators on New Year’s Day. Now they have a chance to make good on what we hope is their resolution to play a better, more consistent brand of hockey as they kick off a three-game home trip against Western teams with a visit from Chicago.
