He added, “Foote: Marco Rossi’s injury is a lower body injury.
Also says the #Canucks will need to call up a forward from Abbotsford as a result of the injuries to Rossi & Garland.”
Vancouver Canucks officially announce call-up of rookie forward from American Hockey League
As mentioned by Adam Foote, the Vancouver Canucks were going to need some reinforcements from the American Hockey League due to their injury issues and on Friday morning, the club announced a roster move.
In a social media post, the Vancouver Canucks announced that they’ve placed forward Marco Rossi on injured reserve retroactive to Tuesday and have called up Arshdeep Bains from the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks.
“General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that F Marco Rossi has been placed on IR (retroactive to Dec. 30) and F Arshdeep Bains has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL).” the Canucks said.
In 26 games for Vancouver this season, Bains has registered five points (one goal, four assists), along with six points (three goals, three assists) in five games for the Abbotsford Canucks.
While it’s unclear if Bains will be in the lineup tonight against the Seattle Kraken, there’s a good chance will Canucks fans will see him in game action at some point over the next week amid those aforementioned injury issues, potentially tomorrow night as they welcome the Boston Bruins to Rogers Arena.
