The Flint Firebirds acquired forward Jacob Battaglia from the Kingston Frontenacs in exchange for eight draft picks on Monday.
Battaglia, 19, was drafted 62nd overall by the Calgary Flames in 2024 and has 14 goals and 27 points in 36 games in Kingston.
The 6-foot-1 winger spent his entire four-season career with the Frontenacs, recording 92 goals and 209 points in 237 games.
He was named the 47th captain in Frontenacs history this season after he helped the team to two straight playoff appearances.
Battaglia joins a Flint team that is battling the Windsor Spitfires for top spot in the West Division and the Western Conference,
Flint is currently tied with Windsor at the top of the West Division with a 26-9-4 record as they next take on the Sarnia Sting on Wednesday.

The Spitfires also made a blockbuster deal on Monday, acquiring forwards Nathan Villeneuve and Alex Pharand from the Sudbury Wolves in exchange for forward J.C. Lemieux and eight draft picks.
Villeneuve, 19, was drafted 63rd overall by the Seattle Kraken in 2024 and was second in Wolves scoring with 16 goals and 44 points in 28 games this season.
The 6-foot centre played his entire four-year OHL career in Sudbury, recording 85 goals and 186 points in 196 games.
On the international stage, Villeneuve helped Canada Red to a silver medal at the 2022 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge, recording three goals and five points in seven games,
Pharand, 21, was drafted 99th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2023 and was third in Wolves scoring with 10 goals and 26 points in 37 games.
The 6-foot-3 winger was drafted 14th overall by the Hamilton Bulldogs in 2021 then traded to Sudbury during the 2021-22 campaign and he recorded 68 goals and 168 points in 293 career OHL games.
Pharand was also a member of Canada’s bronze-medal winning team at the 2023 Under-18 World Hockey Championship.
Villeneuve and Pharand join a Spitfires team is 26-8-4 this season and is competing with Ottawa 67’s, Brantford Bulldogs, and Firebirds for top spot in the OHL.
Sudbury is acquiring a 17-year-old Lemieux, who was drafted 22nd overall in the 2024 OHL Draft.
The 5-foot-11 centre has 10 goals and 18 points in 33 games this season and is eligible for the 2026 NHL Draft.
Lemieux helped Canada White win a gold medal at the 2024 U-17 World Hockey Challenge and also picked up a bronze medal at the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
