Vancouver Canucks’ alternate jersey may have just been leaked

The Vancouver Canucks have had their fair share of jersey and logo changes over the years, it has caused some controversy as it doesn’t really help with building a team identity, and next season it seems like another jersey is in the works, with the Canucks expected to revisit their navy colourway.
“With the return of the Vancouver Canucks’ black “Skate” uniforms as their full-time alternates, fans have been calling for them to be used as their primary home jersey, while re-introducing a white version for the road and while that’s unlikely to happen anytime soon, it does appear that a new sweater could be on the horizon for the organization.”-Jaxon

Trevor Beggs of the Daily Hive reported on the rumours of yet another jersey for the team. While this is more of a full league project where many teams will be getting new jerseys, it does feel like the Canucks come out with too many jerseys, and change colours too often.
“Fanatics, which is in its third season as the official jersey provider to the NHL, recently filed a trademark for the phrase «Hometown Remix,» adding some credibility to the recent speculation. Since those reports, more details have now emerged about what the new jersey could look like for the Canucks. A Reddit user who claims to work for a U.S. jersey retailer recently posted what the primary colours will be for each team’s new uniform.”-Beggs
The reported new colour will be navy blue, which at least the Canucks are revisiting old colours, rather than introducing new ones. But it becomes difficult to create a fan base when the team’s colours are always changing. The Montreal Canadiens are iconic for their red, white and blue, and the Boston Bruins with the “Black and Gold” literally being a nickname for the team. Even in other sports especially soccer, the team’s colours are engrained in their nomenclature, and their identity. With the Canucks the same cannot be said, because it is changed too often. Hopefully the Canucks can find some consistency with their jerseys and build a deeper fanbase.
