Toronto Maple Leafs star William Nylander will miss a sixth straight game Thursday when the team visits the Philadelphia Flyers.
“Willie’s doing good. Possible for Saturday,” head coach Craig Berube said of updating the winger’s status.
Nylander leads the Maple Leafs in scoring this season with 14 goals and 41 points in 33 games. He was placed on retroactive injured reserve on Monday, but can be activated at any time.
The Maple Leafs have four of their six games without Nylander, picking up 10 of a possible 12 points with two overtime losses. The team enters Thursday’s game sitting two points back of the Pittsburgh Penguins for the final wild-card spot and eight points back of the Tampa Bay Lightning for first in the Atlantic Division.
