The Philadelphia Flyers will officially be without star winger Travis Konecny for Saturday’s showdown with the Tampa Bay Lightning at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

Konecny suffered an upper-body injury at some point on Thursday, when he did not come out for the third period of the team’s game vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs.

While it’s unclear when he sustained the injury, he did take a puck to the face in warm-ups before the game, and head coach Rick Tocchet also mentioned a pregame fall. Konecny did collide with an official while coming out of the tunnel prior to the game.

No matter what caused the injury, the team will be without Konecny on Saturday, with Tocchet saying he is not an option.

The Flyers will also be without Jamie Drysdale, who was officially placed on IR retroactive to January 6th on Friday night.

Drysdale was out on the ice with the team at morning skate, wearing a green non-contact jersey.

With Drysdale being on IR, he is also not an option for the Flyers on Saturday, and won’t be an option for Monday’s game.

Speaking of green non-contact jerseys, Bobby Brink was also on the ice Saturday morning in the green fashion.

The Flyers’ winger was not placed on injured reserve, so he remains an option for the Flyers. While Tocchet did not rule out Brink playing, he also suggested he does not expect him to play on Saturday.

From the sound of it, it seems like Monday is a realistic return date for both wingers.
