With the Vancouver Canucks going through a hybrid retool, they have made their veterans open to being traded, but amongst them only a certain few are really on the trade block, Jake Debrusk, Kiefer Sherwood and Evander Kane are the most likely to be dealt by the team.
“Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin has made all of the team’s pending unrestricted free agents available on the trade market and forward Kiefer Sherwood, who is on pace to smash his career-high in goals, is one of the most sought after players right now.”-Jaxon
Multiple Vancouver Canucks rumoured to be dealt
Patrick Johnston of the Province reported on the likely candidates parting the Canucks either by the deadline or in the summer. The two most likely departures are Kane and Sherwood, as they have been in the rumour mill the longest, but Debrusk’s name has come up in recent days as well.
“It was funny hearing Jake DeBrusk’s name come up on the trade rumour hot stove this week, since I’d had a chat with him last week about how much losing here pains him, how much he wants to be part of the solution.”-Johnston
As for Kane and Sherwood, they are both going in opposite directions this season, Sherwood is arguably the only bright spot of the season, looking to achieve a career high in goals, and to sign a good contract this summer, he would bring the Canucks back some good value in a trade. As for Kane he has struggled this year, and his trade value is all over the place, he is likely to be dealt but the potential return remains unclear.
