The Buffalo Sabres saw their three-game win streak end with a 4-3 loss to the Florida Panthers on Monday night at KeyBank Center. Buffalo fell to 24-16-4, losing for just the second time in its last 15 games.

The game was tied 2-2 after two periods before Anton Lundell scored the go-ahead goal for Florida with 8:53 remaining in the third period. A.J. Greer added an empty-net goal late, and Alex Tuch pulled Buffalo back within one with 14 seconds left, but the Sabres were unable to generate another shot following the ensuing faceoff.

Jacob Bryson, Zach Benson and Tuch scored for Buffalo. Colten Ellis made 28 saves on 31 shots in net. The night also marked a milestone for head coach Lindy Ruff, who coached his 1,900th NHL game, the third-most in league history.

Florida opened the scoring on a power play early in the first period before Bryson tied the game midway through the frame. Greer restored the Panthers’ lead late in the first, but Benson answered late in the second to even the score again. Lundell’s crease-side finish in the third proved to be the difference, with Greer’s empty-netter extending the lead before Tuch’s late response.

Greer finished with two goals for Florida, while Carter Verhaeghe recorded three assists and Sam Bennett added two helpers. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 20 shots for the Panthers.
