A new era of Blue Jackets hockey begins tonight, with Rick Bowness taking over as head coach. Between now and the Olympic break there are 12 games and 8 of those are at home, including 7 of the next 8. It’s up to Bowness to get this thing turned around by then. If not, then some hard decisions will have to be made about selling players after the break and before the trade deadline.

Don Waddell said that Denton Mateychuk’s injury does not appear to be major, but that he is getting a second opinion. He is not expected to miss much time.
