UMD’s Sadura nominated for Hockey Humanitarian Award
To play for UMD women’s hockey, or really any top-10 ranked program, it obviously takes a lot of time, talent and dedication. While it can be more difficult to give back to those in need, one Bulldog hasn’t let it stop her at all.
As a result, Grace Sadura has been named one of 12 nominees for the 2026 Hockey Humanitarian Award. The honor is presented annually to a student-athlete who makes significant contributions not only to his or her team but also to the community through leadership in volunteerism.
On top of serving as co-president of UMD’s DEI council, the junior also sits on the board for the Green Bandana Project, a program for high school and college students that raises mental health awareness. Sadura would be the second ever Bulldog to win the award after Gabbie Hughes received it in 2023.
Finalists will be revealed in February and the recipient is set to be announced on Friday, April 10 during the NCAA Men’s Frozen Four weekend in Las Vegas.
