Not much going on halfway through the period. Colorado has eight shots on goal and the Ducks have only mustered one thus far. Anaheim has had some trouble getting shots on net. A part of it is due to Colorado’s defenseman poking the puck away, but the Ducks are also missing the net quite a bit.

Jack Drury was whistled for holding Jansen Harkins with 7:10 left in the first, but the Avs killed the penalty with no issue as Anaheim failed to register a single goal on the power play.

No score.

Avalanche have nine shots on goal and the Ducks have three.

Ducks score. Jeffrey Viel takes a pass from Cutter Gauthier and fires it by a screened Wedgewood. 1-0 Anaheim. The play started off an o-zone turnover from Sam Malinski and the Ducks turned it around to capitalize on the 2-on-1 rush.

It’s a weird game to say the least. The Ducks lead with 4:49 to go in the period with just eight shots on net. The Avs have 18 shots on goal, but it’s been a little sloppy at times with a myriad of o-zone turnovers. In addition, Colorado hasn’t had much luck on the garbage goals. We definitely need to step up here.
