The moves don’t stop for Patrick Allvin and the Vancouver Canucks, as they have sent down Arshdeep Bains to the AHL with the Abbotsford Canucks, who hasn’t performed very well at all in the NHL.

“After weeks of fans calling for the move, the Vancouver Canucks decided to place rookie forward Arshdeep Bains on the waiver wire after a difficult start to the 2025-26 season for him, with some believing that there’s a chance he could be claimed by another club.”-Jaxon

Arshdeep Bains cannot stick with the Vancouver Canucks.

The Vancouver Canucks posted on X, their most recent roster move. They placed Bains on waivers last month before the Christmas break, and nobody claimed him, and now he has been sent down again.

General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that F Arshdeep Bains has been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL).

Bains has only one goal and four assists for five points in 28 NHL games this season. On any other team he wouldn’t even be on an NHL roster based on his performance. But on the worst team in the NHL like the Canucks he has been given opportunity.

Unfortunately the forward hasn’t been able to make it work consistently, in the AHL however, he is over a point per game. His game just doesn’t seem to translate to the NHL, and after recently turning 25, the forward is running out of chances to prove he belongs. We will see if the NHL Canucks call him up again this season, to give him some more opportunities.
