An Eastern Conference team has been named as a potential landing spot for Vancouver Canucks centerman and 2026 Winter Olympian David Kampf.

“According to several sources, the Vancouver Canucks have let it be known that – in an effort to get younger – they are willing to listen to offers on ‘veteran players.'” Friedman said.

So far, the only pending free agent that the Vancouver Canucks have been able to move is Kiefer Sherwood, who was dealt to the San Jose Sharks on Monday for a pair of second round picks and an AHL defenseman, but with nearly six weeks to go until the deadline, it looks like action is starting to pick up on some other players on the team’s roster.

DeRosa says that Kampf would be a solid addition to the Flyers’ bottom-six, who could use someone like him for his defensive style of play and how good he has been in the faceoff dot.

“While Kampf is not the flashiest of trade candidates in the NHL, he would have the potential to be a good addition to the Flyers’ bottom six if acquired. This is because he is a solid defensive forward who also performs well at the dot, as evidenced by his 53.4 faceoff winning percentage this season with Vancouver. He would also give the Flyers another clear option for their penalty kill if acquired.” DeRosa said.

Kampf, 31, began the season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, but after being suspended without pay due to refusing to play in the American Hockey League any longer, he had his contract terminated by mutual consent.

Less than a week after clearing unconditional waivers, Kampf was the Vancouver Canucks signed David Kampf to a one-year deal worth $1.1 million and so far, it’s been a fairly good deal for Patrik Allvin.

The Chomutov, Czechia native probably won’t net the Canucks very much at the deadline, perhaps a mid-round pick (fourth or fifth round), but with Kampf unlikely to be in the team’s plans beyond this season, then they should consider all their options when it comes to moving him prior to March 6th.
