Pittsburgh Penguins News and Notes:
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been tormenting the Pacific Division on this road trip with three straight wins against the Seattle Kraken, Calgary Flames, and Edmonton Oilers as they head to Rogers Arena for the fourth and final game of their road trip. Not only have they won the last three games, but they have also won them in dominant fashion, scoring 16 goals in the last three games, showing an immense level of offensive momentum.
Vancouver Canucks News and Notes:
The injury list of the Vancouver Canucks is slowly getting smaller and smaller with the return of Filip Chytil in tonight’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Canucks have really struggled to get in the win column at all in 2026, so small celebrations like returning roster members from long-term injuries will help build up team chemistry and team morale with so many changes coming to the roster so far this season, as well as closer to the NHL Trade Deadline.

Players to Watch:
Pittsburgh Penguins
With such a prestigious top of the lineup in Pittsburgh like Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Erik Karlsson still playing at the highest level, the Penguins have truly found success through the performance of the bottom half of the lineup. Jack St. Ivany is one of those names, as he’s been able to put up four points in the last two games after just joining the main roster on December 16th. Rickard Rakell has also found immense recent success, looking to continue his five game point streak in tonight’s contest.
Vancouver Canucks
Although they suffered a hard-fought 5-4 loss to the New Jersey Devils, the Vancouver Canucks have been much better as far as offensive production goes, scoring four goals in each of their last two games. One Canuck that has been especially productive is Linus Karlsson, who was able to grab a goal and an assist against the Devils. With the absence of Kiefer Sherwood, Brock Boeser has taken over a heavier role, putting up three points in the last two games as well.
