The Philadelphia Flyers have a 24–17–9 record in the 2025–26 season, sitting just two points out of third place in the Metropolitan Division. Below, you’ll find the team’s schedule and key storylines for the week ahead.
Flyers Back in the Playoff Mix, Face Pivotal Week Ahead
The Flyers previously lost six games in a row, and five in regulation. After being in a playoff spot for most of the season, they lost ground and dropped to as low as 12th in the Eastern Conference. Fortunately, a 2–0–1 record in a challenging week (at Vegas Golden Knights, at Utah Mammoth, at Colorado Avalanche) has them back in the mix.
This week ahead is pivotal for regaining a spot in the postseason. The Flyers are five points back of a wildcard spot, but a regulation win vs. the New York Islanders on Monday, Jan. 26, would have them tied for third in the Metropolitan Division (and they’d be “in” via a games-played tiebreaker).
Of the Flyers’ four matchups this week, three are against teams in the Eastern Conference. It’s only January, but these are must-win games.
Flyers’ Injury Report
The Flyers have three players on injured reserve (excluding Tyson Foerster, who may not be back this season).
The first is center Rodrigo Ābols, whose reported fractured right ankle got him removed from Team Latvia for the 2026 Winter Olympics. During his recovery, Lane Pederson has taken his place on the fourth line. In three games, he has averaged 8:56 of ice time.
Rasmus Ristolainen finds himself on the injury report, but the good news is that he participated in the team’s morning skate on Monday. He should be back soon.

Finally, goaltender Dan Vladař is still out. After leaving an eventual 5–2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres before the second period on Jan. 14, the 28-year-old netminder was labeled “day-to-day.” That was almost two weeks ago, so it’s been longer than expected, but he was also at the Monday morning skate.
