Two of the top teams in the Pacific Division get set to battle it out on Monday night, as Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers get set to host the Anaheim Ducks.
The Oilers were a team that had been looking like it was hungover from back-to-back trips to the Stanley Cup final. However, McDavid has been a key part of getting Edmonton out of an early-season slump to be back in contention for the Pacific Division title. The team might have lost consecutive games last week, but No. 97 was able to play the hero in a wild game on Saturday night against the Washington Capitals, as the Oilers captain scored the overtime winner to give his team a 6-5 victory.
It has been a roller-coaster season for the Ducks. The young core had a strong start to the season, but a nine-game losing streak sent the team spiraling down the standings. Yet, Anaheim has turned things around, winning seven in a row since then, moving them up to third in the division.
The Oilers are second in the Pacific, two points back of the Vegas Golden Knights for first place.
