Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Wild’s comeback bid fell just short on Saturday night, as they dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to the Florida Panthers at Grand Casino Arena.

Brad Marchand netted the game-winner just three minutes into the extra frame, silencing the home crowd and handing the Wild their latest overtime setback. Despite the loss, Minnesota salvaged a point in the standings.

The Wild showed resilience throughout the contest, with goals from Matt Boldy, Kirill Kaprizov, and Joel Eriksson Ek keeping them in the fight. The offensive contributions from Minnesota’s top players weren’t enough to secure the two points, but demonstrated the team’s ability to battle against one of the league’s top clubs.

With the overtime loss, Minnesota remains in second place in the Central Division with 68 points.

The Wild will look to bounce back quickly as they return to home ice to face the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night.
