The Vegas Golden Knights (25-14-12, 62 points) wrap up a four-game Eastern road trip on Tuesday night when they visit the Montreal Canadiens (28-17-7, 63 points), who have dropped their last two games.

Vegas fell to 1-2-0 on its road trip on Sunday night, taking a 7-1 drubbing from the Ottawa Senators. Rasmus Andersson prevented the shutout, scoring with 4:55 remaining. It was Andersson’s first goal since coming in a trade from the Calgary Flames. The Golden Knights were outshot 31-20 and outhit 34-20 while playing their third game in four nights. 

Cole Caufield’s hat trick wasn’t enough as the Canadiens surrendered two third-period goals Saturday in a 4-3 loss to the Boston Bruins. Each of Caufield’s goals gave Montreal a one-goal lead, coming at 6:36 of the first period and 7:37 and 13:29 of the second, with the latter two coming on the power play. The Bruins tied the game at 13:55 of the third and netted the go-ahead tally just 12 seconds later.

Montreal can secure a season sweep with a win on Tuesday night after winning in Las Vegas 4-1 on Nov. 28. Pavel Dorofeyev leads the Golden Knights with 22 goals, while Tomáš Hertl checks in with 21, and Jack Eichel leads the team with 61 points. Akira Schmid, who didn’t play Sunday, is 15-5-5 in 26 games and 22 starts with two shutouts, a .896 save percentage, and a 2.51 goals against average. Caufield’s 29 goals lead Montreal, while Jurah Slafkovsky has scored 19, and Nick Suzuki tops the squad with 59 points. Jakub Dobes is 15-5-3 in 23 games and 22 starts with an .887 save percentage and 3.01 GAA.
