The Chicago Blackhawks young star has had almost nothing go well of late, and that extended into an embarrassing shootout moment on Tuesday night.
With the Blackhawks needing Bedard to net to keep pace in the shootout, he didn’t even get a shot off. He lost the puck as he went toward net and just had to skate away dejectedly.

As that post indicates, Bedard has been struggling since his return from injury.
His coach Jeff Blashill had recently called out Bedard’s middling performances.
“Yeah, I think he’d be the first to tell you, since he’s been back, I think there have been moments when he’s going good and moments where he hasn’t,” Blashill said over the weekend. “That’s the ebb and flow of reality at times of the year. That’s what happens with guys sometimes. You’re out a long time, and it’s hard to get your mojo back sometimes. He’s just working his mojo back.”

Chicago is certainly counting on Bedard to be its leader now and into the future, which can feel like a lot of pressure when things aren’t going well.
The Blackhawks will just need to continue supporting Bedard in the hopes that he can turn the corner, but right now, it’s pretty rough.
