An NHL insider has confirmed a Pacific Division team’s interest in Vancouver Canucks forward Evander Kane as talks surrounding the 34-year-old begin to heat up.

With the team already trading away their top pending unrestricted free agent, Kiefer Sherwood, to the San Jose Sharks over a week ago, the attention has now shifted to others on the Canucks’ roster, with forward Evander Kane reportedly drawing interest from a number of teams, including the Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars.

“”Per multiple sources, I’m told the @DallasStars and @Avalanche are among the likely destinations for @Canucks F Kane via potential trade.” NHL insider Kevin Weekes said on X last Friday.

“The #Canucks continue having trade talks involving Evander Kane. I’m told VAN is willing to retain part of his salary; want a prospect and/or draft pick in return. Some teams in East have engaged.

@DhaliwalSports reported last night Kane’s agent has permission to talk to teams.” Pagnotta said.

Further to that, Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period confirmed that after talking with his sources, the Los Angeles Kings are among those who have interest in trading for Evander Kane.

“Reports stating the Kings inquired about Kane are accurate, per sources.” Bernstein said.

“While it’s still a rumor – something we don’t normally spend too much time on, but this was just too intriguing to not stop and give it pause for a few minutes – two separate sources over the past week have indicated to Mayor’s Manor that they believe Holland is kicking the tires on a potential Kane trade.” Mayor’s Manor said.

In 52 games this season for the Canucks, Kane has registered 24 points (nine goals, 15 assists), 64 penalty minutes and is a minus-18 while averaging 16:47 of ice time per night.
