BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo Sabres are riding a four-game winning streak, hosting the Los Angeles Kings for their only regular season visit to KeyBank Center. Alex Lyon is starting in goal for the Sabres.
The Sabres used an early power play chance to score the game’s first goal against Los Angeles. Alex Tuch was credited with his 20th goal of the year thanks to a fortunate bounce off of a Kings’ defenseman in the slot.

Alex Lyon made 12 saves in the first period, including three during a shorthanded opportunity late in the period. Buffalo was credited with seven shots in the first, as well.
Tuch was able to score his second goal of the night with a deflection in front of the net on a shot that came from the blue line.

Bowen Byram took the shot that eventually went in the net to extend Buffalo’s lead to 3-0. Byram and Zach Benson assisted on the goal that came just over six minutes into the second period.
Los Angeles had an answer thanks to a power play goal just over a minute later to trim their deficit to 3-1. Adrian Kempe was able top tip a shot by Kevin Fiala. The score came while Dahlin was in the penalty box for slashing.
The Kings thought they had trimmed the deficit to a goal earlier in the period. But the goal was disallowed after the officials discussed goaltender interference after Corey Perry ran into Lyon.
