The Vegas Golden Knights are set to take their brand of ice hockey outdoors once again as they head to Arlington, Texas, for the 2027 NHL Stadium Series at AT&T Stadium — the iconic home of the Dallas Cowboys. The event is scheduled for Saturday, February 20, 2027, and promises to be a marquee moment on the NHL calendar, with the puck set to drop under the open sky (roof‑retracted or not) in one of North America’s most striking sporting venues.

When and Where

Date: Saturday, February 20, 2027

Location: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas

Opponent: Dallas Stars — Western Conference rivals for Vegas

The game is slated for prime time, serving as one of the centerpieces of the NHL’s outdoor schedule. Broadcast details include national coverage on ABC, giving fans across the country the chance to experience the excitement of hockey in a football stadium setting.

A Big Stage for Outdoor Hockey

For the Golden Knights, this trip marks the franchise’s third outdoor appearance in team history. Vegas has previously skated in two notable NHL outdoor games:

NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe (2021) — a scenic outdoor spectacle where Vegas fell 3–2 to the Colorado Avalanche.

2024 NHL Winter Classic at T‑Mobile Park in Seattle — a prime‑time New Year’s Day matchup that saw the Seattle Kraken shut out Vegas 3–0.

Despite the team’s outdoor record standing at 0‑2 heading into 2027, these games have become fan favorites, offering a unique championship‑style atmosphere and give the fans a once and a lifetime experience.

The Dallas Stars, meanwhile, will serve as hosts in Arlington — the second time an NHL outdoor game has been played in the state of Texas. Their previous outdoor outing was the 2020 Winter Classic in Dallas, a high‑profile event that drew more than 85,000 fans and saw the Stars defeat the Nashville Predators in front of a sold‑out crowd.

Rivalry Renewed on the Big Stage

The matchup between the Golden Knights and Stars is bound to add another chapter to a growing competitive rivalry between the two clubs. Since Vegas’ NHL debut in 2017, the teams have clashed in meaningful games — including multiple playoff series — making the Stadium Series duel all the more compelling for fans of both teams.

As excitement builds toward February 2027, fans can expect a memorable outdoor clash full of energy, atmosphere, and a chance for Vegas to finally break through in an outdoor game — all under the bright lights of AT&T Stadium.
