Boston came in already short Elias Lindholm, and the lineup felt thin before the puck even dropped.

The Bruins still played like a team that expects points at home. They kept pushing pace through the neutral zone.

Zacha even found the net early, popping a quick strike to build the lead.

Then everything changed in the second period. Zacha exited at 13:05 with an upper-body injury and did not return.

Boston shared the update in-game, and it landed like a gut punch.

Zacha has been a steady top-six piece this season, sitting at 15-22-37 after his goal Thursday.

The Bruins controlled the game even without Zacha and ended up improving to 32-20-3.

Samuel Errson leaves game with lower-body injury

The Flyers’ got some bad news later in the game as well. It was announced that goaltender Samuel Ersson couldn’t continue. He left after the second period with a lower-body injury.

Ersson had already faced a rough workload, allowing five goals on 20 shots before the injury.

Philadelphia’s own update confirmed he was done for the night.

On the season, Ersson sits at 8-10-5 with a .856 save percentage, so the Flyers cannot really afford more instability in net.

Dan Vladar took over and stopped all six shots he saw, but the damage was already sitting on the scoreboard.

Losing Zacha is a huge loss for the Bruins, and being without two top-six players is definitely not ideal, especially with how close the playoff race is right now.
