The Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon is currently facing backlash for a dangerous move he made last night on the Detroit Red Wings forward Alex DeBrincat.

Frustrations were high for the Colorado Avalanche last night as they traveled to Detroit to face the Red Wings.

However, Nathan MacKinnon is currently facing backlash for a dangerous move that could’ve injured Alex DeBrincat during a scrum.

Nathan MacKinnon Faces Backlash For Dangerous Move In Scrum That Could’ve Injure Alex DeBrincat

In the game, all players on the ice were in a scrum, except MacKinnon, who was skating near by.

Instead of jumping in to help his teammates or try to seperate the players, the Avs leader slowly approached the scrum, and decided to pull on Alex DeBrincat’s arm, who was taking on two Avs players at the same time.

MacKinnon pulled hard on a few attemps, but eventually returned to the bench.

In the end, DeBrincat didn’t get injured, and MacKinnon showed a side of his playing style that doesn’t resonate with fans at all.

Check out how it all went down in the video below:

This could’ve been a tough blow to DeBrincat and the Wings. Had he suffered from an elbow surgery, he wouldn’t have been able to help the team clinch a playoff spot for the first time in a decade, and he wouldn’t have gotten the opportunity to keep going offensively.

After 56 games, the forward currently has 30 goals and 27 assists.
