With the Detroit Red Wings sitting in second place in the Atlantic Division through 57 of 82 games, it’s beginning to look like this could finally be the year they end their playoff drought.

Of course, there’s still plenty of work to be done. After Wednesday’s game in Utah, the Red Wings will not play again until Feb. 26 in Ottawa. At that point, the NHL trade deadline will be just over a week away. Detroit will play its final 25 games in 49 days between Feb. 26 and April 15.
