Boston Bruins hockey may be on hiatus, but you can still see some of your favorites lace up their skates to play for their home countries in the XXV Winter Olympic Games.
Nine players are trading in the iconic spoked “B” for their nation’s colors this February. Among them are the Bruins’ three alternate captains: David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy and Hampus Lindholm.
The Olympic Games provide the unique opportunity to turn teammates into rivals for a brief moment, all in hopes of claiming gold at the end of the competition.

A leader both on the ice and in the locker room, David Pastrnak is a no-brainer when it comes to creating an elite team for Czechia.
His 400-plus goals, 900-plus career points and more than 800 games played are just the tip of the iceberg for Pasta, who continues to climb leaderboards, truly cementing himself in Bruins history.
He will have one very familiar face joining him on the ice. Fellow Bruin Pavel Zacha will wear the white, red and blue as well.

Representing Team USA on the Olympic stage are two Boston standouts: Charlie McAvoy and Jeremy Swayman.
McAvoy, another alternate captain for the Bs, hails from Long Beach, New York and has been a star on the ice with Boston since 2017.
He and Alaska native Jeremy Swayman, will bring their talents to Italy to team up once again to compete for Team USA.
Who knows, maybe while they’re playing they’ll catch a glimpse of Snoop Dogg?
Men’s Hockey begins Wednesday, February 11 and concludes with the gold medal game on Sunday, February 22.

Sweden Shines With Bruins Gold
Playing for Team Sweden are the Lindholms. Elias and Hampus share the same popular surname, but aren’t related.
They do share one thing in common, though: playing for the Bruins. Hampus Lindholm is one of Boston’s alternate captains, serving as a leader on and off the ice.
He brings his talent to Milan where he and Elias will sport the blue and yellow for Team Sweden.
Locmelis Plays For Latvia
Latvia native and UMass Amherst alumn Dans Locmelis is the ninth member of the Boston Bruins to fly across the Atlantic to play for their country.
Seen frequently on the ice in Providence with the P Bruins, Locmelis will be trading in his black and gold for the carmine red and white of Latvia.
