The Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin revealed which Team USA teammate he’d like to see Steve Yzerman acquire.
Dylan Larkin, 29, will make his Olympic debut with Team USA in Milan-Cortina.
With NHLers returning to the Olympics for the first time since 2014, players look forward to competing alongside the best of their nations.
Larkin opened up in a recent interview about what’s coming, and answered an interesting question about his future teammates in Milan.
Dylan Larkin Reveals Which Team USA Teammate He’d Like To See Joining The Red Wings
Larkin is currently competing in his 10th NHL season with the Red Wings.
He has been the face of the team for the last decade, and in a recent interview, gave a big suggestion to Yzerman about who he would like to see join the team.
Indeed, he revealed that among all Team USA Olympians, he’d like to see Zach Werenski in Detroit the most, but admitted he would be interested in taking all of them.
He added that Werenski is an obvious choice for him because they have been friends for a long time, and that he is a dominant player on the ice:
“Can I take them all? [laughs]. No, I’d probably say Zach Werenski. He’s one of my best friends. We grew up playing together. You know, he was my roommate at Michigan, I was in his wedding… he’s just such a special player. He’s a real force with how big he is and how well he can skate. He truly dominates as a defenseman.”
Werenski, 28, has been having himself yet another impressive season, with 61 points, including 19 goals, in only 51 games.
