MOORHEAD — A two-goal third period lifted the Concordia men’s hockey team to its sixth win in its last seven games Wednesday.
The Cobbers received third-period goals from Ryan Roethke and Joseph Harguindeguy to pick up a 3-1 win in a Division III MIAC game played at the Moorhead Sports Center.
Blake Johnson opened the scoring at the 8 minute, 11 second mark of the first period to give the Cobbers a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes.
Hamline’s Nicolas Haviar tied the game at 4:14 of the third before Roethke broke the tie at 11:08 to put Concordia up 2-1. Harguindeguy added the insurance goal just over two minutes later at 13:16.
Shots were an even 28-28. Concordia netminder Dane Couture finished with 27 saves.
Roethke added an assist to finish with a two-point effort. The Cobbers went 1-for-4 on the power play.
Concordia improved to 9-8-2 overall and 4-5-1 in conference.
