The New Jersey Devils, today, ahead of the 3:00 PM EST roster freeze, have swung a trade with the St. Louis Blues, acquiring forward Nick Bjugstad in exchange for a 2026 conditional fourth-round draft pick and Thomas Bordeleau. He signed a two-year contract with the Blues on July 1, 2025. Bjugstad, this season in 35 games for the Blues, has seven points on six goals and an assist. He’s a minus-seven with a shorthanded goal and a game-winning goal. He started January red hot, rejoining the Blues on the 13th, and he scored in back-to-back games before cooling off and hasn’t scored since January 16th.

Nick Bjugstad
The Florida Panthers drafted Bjugstad 19th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He’s jumped around, having played for the Panthers for seven seasons, Pittsburgh Penguins for two seasons, Minnesota Wild for two seasons, Arizona Coyotes on two seperate stints, Edmonton Oilers for part of a season, Utah Mammoth, and Blues. In 795 career NHL games, he has 337 points on 163 goals and 174 assists. He’s a career -22 with 22 power-play goals, four shorthanded goals, and 21 game-winning goals. In 27 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, he has eight points on six goals and two assists. He’s a plus-one with two game-winning goals.
