Although he’s only been in Minnesota for nearly two months, Quinn Hughes is already in the Wild’s record books.

With a helper on Matt Boldy’s second of three first-period goals on Wednesday, Hughes set a franchise record for the longest assist streak at 10 games.

Hughes was previously tied with teammate Kirill Kaprizov for the Wild record at nine games.

The 26-year-old also registered an apple on Boldy’s third of the night, putting him at 16 assists over the streak and 34 points (three goals, 31 assists in just 26 games with the Wild.

Not only did Hughes set a Wild record, but he also set the NHL record for the longest assist streak by a defenceman in their first season with a team, passing Tom Kurvers of the 1991-92 Islanders and Tom Edur of the 1977-78 Penguins.

Hughes will suit up for Team USA at the Winter Olympics in Milan before given a chance to extend his streak on Feb. 26 when the Wild take on the Avalanche.
