Former NHL forward Tomas Tatar will serve as Slovakia’s captain at the Winter Olympics.
Tatar received the honour on Monday, with Tampa Bay Lightning defenceman Erik Cernak and Washington Capitals blueliner Martin Fehervary serving as alternate captains.

Tatar has spent this season playing in Switzerland with Zug EV, posting seven goals and 30 points in 36 games.
The 35-year-old winger had seven goals and 17 points in 74 games with the New Jersey Devils last season. He posted 227 goals and 496 points over 927 career games with the Detroit Red Wings, Vegas Golden Knights, Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, Colorado Avalanche, Seattle Kraken and Devils.
Slovakia will face Finland in their opening game of the Olympics on Wednesday.
