A couple of Penguins Elite system products factored in on the U.S. women’s 5-0 win over Canada today, with forward Hannah Bilka scoring two goals and defender Laila Edwards adding another.

Bilka, 24, is a Texas native who played U14 in the Penguins Elite program and now plays for the PWHL’s Seattle Torrent. Edwards, 22, is from Cleveland Heights, Ohio and moved to Pittsburgh at 14 to play for Shady Side Academy and the Penguins Elite program. She’s currently a senior at the University of Wisconsin and is a top prospect for this summer’s PWHL draft.
