Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg will miss the upcoming game against the Lakers. An MRI revealed a left midfoot sprain, which will also keep him out of the Rising Stars Challenge. This is Flagg’s second notable injury this season, following a wrist injury in January.

With the NBA All-Star Game coming up this weekend, the Dallas Mavericks have only one game left, which is Thursday night in Los Angeles against Luka Doncic and the Lakers.

Unfortunately for Jason Kidd’s team, Cooper Flagg will miss the game (and his appearance in the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday night) after injuring his foot on Tuesday night in the loss to the Phoenix Suns.

On Wednesday night, the Mavericks’ official Twitter account announced that the star rookie had undergone an MRI that revealed a left midfoot sprain, which will keep him out for some time.

It’s another injury that has held Flagg back some this season. In January, he injured his wrist, causing him to miss a couple of games. Despite the setbacks, the former Duke star is having a rookie season to remember, averaging 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists for the Mavericks. He has also set some NBA records, including becoming the first teenager in league history to score 30-plus points in three straight games.
