Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk set up Jack Eichel’s go-ahead goal in the United States 6-3 win over a game Denmark at 2026 Winter Oympics in Milano, Italy.
Tkachuk drew the lone helper on Eichel’s goal off an offensive zone faceoff at 10:23 of the second period that put the Americans up by a 3-2 count.
Tkachuk finished the game with two shots on goal and a plus-two rating. He received 16:16 of ice time.
Niko Mikkola and Eetu Luostarinen each had two assists in Finland’s 11-0 rout of Italy’s which put their country in a great position to claim the wild card into the quarterfinals.
Anton Lundell missed the game due to illness.
In addition to his pair of helpers, Mikkola logged 20:36 of ice time, registered four shots on goal and finished with a robust plus-five rating. A mighty game for the towering blueliner.
Luostarinen played 12:33, had one shot on goal and posted a plus-three rating for the Finns, who won back-to-back games to finish second in Group B.
Even though they lost to Gustav Forsling and Sweden 5-3, Slovakia ended up winning Group B.
Forsling logged 20:33 of ice time, put one shot on goal and finished the tilt with an even rating.
Uvis Balinskis and Sandis Vilmanis took part in Latvia’s 4-3 win over Germany.
Balinskis logged a team-high 24:09 of ice time, registered one shot on goal and finished with an even rating.
Vilmanis had two shots on goal, both in the first period, played 18:10 and posted an even rating.
