Eduards Tralmaks had his best game yet in the 2026 Olympic games against the Danes, but he and Latvia unfortunately came up short in a 4-2 loss. Team Latvia now sits with a record of 1-2 going into the quarterfinals round.

Time on Ice
Tralmaks was on ice for 17:36 and served four penalty minutes. The 28-year-old forward was called for hooking in the first period and roughing in the third period. Latvia’s top line aside from Tralmaks all played 20+ minutes in the loss to the Danes.

Production
Tralmaks had two points in the final game of the semi-final, assisting on Roberts Kristaps goal in the first period and then tallying one of his own in the second period. Tralmaks’ first penalty in the opening period led to the Danish team’s second goal after they had started scoring just 23 seconds into the game. The Latvians managed to kill off the power play he gave the Danes in the third period.

Game Notes
Latvia came to the game off of an upset win over the Germans on Valentine’s Day. However, Denmark’s Nick Olesen would open scoring just 23 seconds into the game, and finish with three points in the team’s first win of the tournament.
Â
Analysis
Tralmaks has had an assist, goal, or penalty in all three of Latvia’s games. The hard hitting forward has been productive for his team when he isn’t taking penalties, but today’s game was more of a mixed bag for his effectiveness on ice.
