The Vancouver Canucks have been urged to part with one specific player ahead of the National Hockey League’s trade deadline, which is less than three weeks away.

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin and the rest of the team’s front office are going to be very busy starting one week from today after the National Hockey League’s roster freeze concludes and it’s going to lead to some pretty big decisions.

“According to several sources, the Vancouver Canucks have let it be known that – in an effort to get younger – they are willing to listen to offers on ‘veteran players.'” Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman said in late-November.

In a recent article for Clutch Points, Tristin McKinstry believes that if the Vancouver Canucks are going to trade anyone before the deadline, it should be veteran forward Evander Kane, who’s name is starting to gain some traction on the market.

“It feels somewhat unlikely the Canucks sign Kane to another contract. They always could, given the hometown aspect here. But the veteran winger in no way fits their current timeline. He has the sort of Stanley Cup Playoff experience that could help younger players. At the same time, though, he could aid a contending team with that same experience.” McKinstry said.

When Patrik Allvin decides to pull the trigger on an Evander Kane trade, the odds of him remaining in the Western Conference are increasingly likely with the Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars and Los Angeles Kings among those linked to the 34-year-old winger.

There will be even more interest in Evander Kane beyond the three teams already mentioned, with more contenders looking for a middle-six forward that can not only put the puck in the back of the net, but also bring that physical edge that’s needed in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
