While Team Canada had NHL talent on its Olympic roster, it never trailed in a game.

Until David Pastrnak changed that Wednesday.

The Boston Bruins star forward gave Team Czechia a 2-1 lead with his goal in the first period. It marked the first time in 805 minutes and 1 second that Canada trailed.

Despite the go-ahead goal, Canada came back, forced overtime and earned a quarterfinal win on a Mitch Marner goal to advance the Canadians to the semifinal and send the Czechs packing.

Canada’s next opponent will depend on the outcome of USA’s quarterfinal against Sweden. If the Americans win, Canada will face Finland. If Sweden emerges victorious, they will face the Canadians.
