The Sabres star has three goals and an assist during these Olympic Games.
BUFFALO, N.Y. — There was both good and bad news for Buffalo Sabres star Tage Thompson on Friday at the Winter Olympics.
First, the good news. He assisted on Team USA’s first goal of the game, by Dylan Larkin, then scored one himself as the Americans raced out to a quick lead in the semifinals of the men’s hockey tournament at the Winter Games.
Now, the bad news. He suffered an injury during the second period of the game against Slovakia and was held out of the third for precautionary reasons, NBC said during the broadcast. The specific injury was not immediately known. He was not on the bench when the teams returned to the ice.
